The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) through the Management Development Centre (MDC) conducted a Supervisory Skills Training in Blantyre for middle managers from 18-22 March 2024.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Laston Masumba, a leading consultant in Accounting, Taxation and Management advisory, Friday Kumitengo, a consulting management expert and Dr Ella Kangaude who is MDC Centre Manager and a seasoned business management academician with a special focus in entrepreneurship.

The participants honed skills in Effective Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities, Communication at the workplace, Coaching, Effective delegation, Motivation techniques as a supervisor and teamwork.

The training was done through presentations, group discussions, role plays, games, and take-home assignments to ensure interactive and highly practical training that will lead to the transformation of the participants and their organizations. Most importantly, participants reflected and shared their real-life experiences to relate the concepts learnt to their work life and setting. Every concept was meticulously examined to equip participants with the tools they need to excel in their careers. The training was attended by participants from Nalipiri Eco-Resort, Ekhaya Farms, CDH Bank, MUBAS and Servas Ltd. 

MDC has pledged to continue offering professional development courses and training to all different levels of managers, leaders, business owners and young innovators in fulfilment of its mandate aimed at ensuring that organizations realize their full potential in their quest towards success being self-reliant organizational as they endeavour for excellency in public service delivery.
